Cannot input numbers on phone screen - HELP

Hello I'm hoping someone can help. I am having an issue with inputting numbers to be able to call them on the phone screen. When I do put a number in it says unfortunately contacts have stopped. I have reset my phone and restarted.
I hope someone can help
Thank you in advance

That's strange. Can you check if the same occurs in safe mode?

@Minxymel85 First, make sure you have a backup of your contacts. Then, go to settings - apps, tap on the 3 dots and show system. Scroll down to contacts and contacts storage, force stop and clear data. Restart and check.

I seem to be having the same problem.  I tried safe mode, and it still gives me the error, "Unfortunately, Contacts has stopped".  I get the same error when I try to dial a phone number.

I see the "button" for Force Stop, but where is the Clear Data button?

Thanks

Got it. Now my contacts are deleted, but it still crashes.
Is there a way to delete the entire contacts app, so it can be reinstalled?
