Xperia z3v - Powered on this morning and stuck w screen saying Andriod is starting, starting apps

Shut off phone last night and when powered back on this morning, went thru the Verizon red screen and then got message "Andriod is starting, starting apps "and  circle keeps spinning.

I tried to shut down per user guide with a pen and not too hard. but  nothing happen. I just have the screen with the  message and spinning circle.

Not sure what to do next.

Thanks for any assistance. Never had any problems w the phone before and had for about a year.

Since Verizon crippled this phone, you can't use Xperia Companion to repair it, you could remove the SIM card and try to turn it on again, see if that does it, if not then you will have to stop by your local Verizon.

Right now I am charging  the phone back up because the light at the top had turned red from green but still receving the same message.

You could try to boot in >>> safe mode perhaps using the volume button and see if that does it.

That worked on shutting the phone down. I restarted the phone and is now says "Andriod is starting, optimizing app XX of XXX. and it is moving thru them quickly.

My phone is now working,. you are the BEST. Yes, I was starting to have a bit of a panic attack that I could not  use the phone and all the information on there. Also,  you saved me a trip to the verizon store.
