Hello,
Since a few weeks I have a very annoying problem with my Sony Z3 Compact. It is showing the GPS location very inaccurately even when I am outside. I already tried most of the solutions that were posted in this community, but to no avail. Also when I am using apps like GPS Status and Toolbox, the gps is not able to pinpoint my location. It shows that there are satellites, but it is not connecting with them.
Does anyone please have a solution? Because with the pokemonGo and other fitness tracking apps it is becoming unworkable.

Hello,
I just contacted a local repair centre (an independent one) and I got the following answer back about the problem:
what solutions have you tried?
try to boot to safe mode, it it does work then it means there is a third party app affecting it,.
try to software repair using Xperia Companion.
if still not working then its time to send your device to your local service center Local support for repairs
I used both PC Companion repair and Safe Boot but it is still not working.
Solution 1 I tried:
1: Download GPS Status and Toolbox
2: Clear A-GPS Status
3: Download A-GPS
4: wait a few minutes
5: But still no location or satellite available
Solution 2 I tried:
1: open the dialer and dial *#*#7378423#*#*,
2: select Service tests
3: GPS
4: Purge assistance data and then restart the phone.
5: Still nothing
Option 3 I tried:
1: Checking if I had default,supl under The APN-type
2: Was already listed. So that was not the problem
Solution 4:
1: Google -> Locations settings -> Let Google apps access your location -> ON.
2: Still nothing
The main problem appears that it shows satellites available, but is not connecting with them. It is really annoying. I really don't want to bring it to the service store again because it will most likely not fall under the warranty. I also just got it repaired because of a failed audiojack. So I hope that there is another solution.
Hi all
The same happened to me. Marshmallow update I could use gps normally but since update 6.0 I can't.
How can an official update from Sony break this? Can someone help me?
Thanks!
