Camera button not working only on native camera app

Hello everyone!

I am having trouble working with my Xperia Z2 camera button only on the native camera app. If the first stage is pressed, it will wake up the phone and start to focus, but second stage doesn't work at all (solely on the native app)
It won't start to take pictures in any mode (auto, manual, front camera) and won't start recording.

I have already tested on other apps (Google camera, Instagram, and so on) and the button is working as expected, both stages of clicking. And the button has also passed the system diagnostics test.

Already cleared the cash, wiped out all the data, tried PCC. Everything.

In resume, will not work on Sony Xperia z2 native camera app, but works everywhere else!

Is that a marshmallow update issue? Is that a app problem?

Thanks for your time,

Billy

Unfortunately if it depended on the local support, I might as well throw it in the garbage! I'm from Brazil and it is how the customers support usually work. They will say the phone has a critical problem and the will tell you to buy another one.. Hehehehe

Thanks everybody for helping! Best regards!

@Billyeh82 Any chance you have changed quick launch settings? Or set it just to capture on touch?

Hello, I have already tried all the combinations possible, either on quick launch and camera modes. Still not working. And it is important to say, not working only on native app.

The physical camera button is working perfectly in any other photography app! I realized it was after update to Marshmallow. Could this be the reason?

The camera button has two phases, first (half press) will focus and with full press you will be able to shoot. I will check a Z2 and get back to you.

@Billyeh82 Updated to 575, no problem with camera button in default camera app.

And a PC companion repair made no difference? @Billyeh82

No difference at all, the problem stayed the same. Just tested again, it is working fine with Instagram app, but not with native camera app.. How weird!

Clear the camera app data then restart the app by pressing the button for a second.
What happens?

The same, nothing happened.. Is there any other way to test the 2-stages physical button? Perhaps an other app?
I wonder if maybe the second stage of pressing might be defective. The Instagram and Google camera app only use the first stage, it doesn't matter if you half press the button, or fully press it, they both will take the picture anyway.

And I noticed that the system diagnostics works the same way, it only detects the first stage, but not the second one. Once I half press the button, it already starts to vibrate, indicating the button detection, thus the test is passed. The system will not tell if it senses the second stage of clicking

Am I right?
