updated my z5 compact yesterday and have a battery drain.
I have checked and it is the messaging services that is on top off the list, about 70% now
Already restarted the phone, checked but every sync option is off, as suggested on the internet.
Any idea why this services is draining my battery?

@Uliwooly and all other readers.
For now the problem seems to have been solved. Used a battery monitor for a while but no app seems to be the culprit. So, after a lot of digging on the internet the problem was something my provider puts in their rom.
And that thing made things go corrupt and wonkers. It was the RCS (Rich Communication Services) that caused problems. I did not used it, not even able to select it but it was there. In the sms settings I saw all the option for chatting active.
Now, 3 days later after de-activating those options no more battery drain due to messaging services and normal battery.
We'll need more info to better assist you
charge the phone 100% use it as you normally would then once the battery reaches 10%
settings > power management > battery > take screenshots of:
1. the list
2. tap on the graph and take a screenshot
3. back > tap on the top 4 items on the list > take a screenshot of each
post them all here or upload the screenshots to box or dropbox or google drive or etc and post the link
Thank you for the reply. It will tale some time to do this because it is draining but not that fast.
Last night while asleep I lost 8% instead of my normal 2% to this service....
Any idea what this service is used for so I can research more, searching this services doesn't bring up nothing useful.
I don't use sms what so ever only whatsapp but any more then sms I cn't imaging what this service is used for.
If that is the case then I need to look for this app because in the previous version I had no drain at all.
how to look for this app or apps? Because all I see is messaging service in the list.
I had a similar issue, even though i forced stopped all apps it still drained my battery super quick. Even after optimising everything.
Deleted the Facebook app and all back to normal, battery lasts a couple of days under normal use. It's been a couple of weeks since it happened and no problems since.
Thanks for the suggestion but I dont have Facebook installed. If it is indeed a app first will try to clear caches and so on. If it doesnt help I need to start by eliminating apps..
So I did a software repair and was amazed. After the repair I was hit by notifications to grant access for certain messaging actions from my operator. Not sure if this was it but it really seems so. Because after the update I previous did I did not get any of these notifications. I need to wait until next recharge cycle to be sure but it feels this was the problem.
