updated my z5 compact yesterday and have a battery drain.
I have checked and it is the messaging services that is on top off the list, about 70% now
Already restarted the phone, checked but every sync option is off, as suggested on the internet.
Any idea why this services is draining my battery?

Also, after this repair the volume is MUCH better almost if if ran before on one speaker. Screen is much brighter with the same settings as before the repair.
Overall it seems to have fixed more than just the battery and even things I did not noticed before.
after major android updates I recommend to reinstall it after installing it, it does smooth things out.
Well it has improved a little bit but I still have to much awake due to messaging services. The only app I have installed at the moment is Whatsapp and the apps from Sony and the bloatware from my provider (unable to install)
Click for screens any suggestions what to do with this I am not sure what to do anymore.
Whatsapp its a battery hog, and as you can see on the screenshots something is keeping your phone awake.
If Whatsapp would be the problem I should have had this problem before the update, I did not. As these days almost evrybody uses it more people should have this problem.
So, my phone runs now on stock apps with only Whatsapp, no email configured and so on. You say something keeps it awake. Could be indeed, but how to check what keeps it awake as I dont believe it is Whatsapp.
It'll be hard to find the app, you could download an app to check what keeps the phone awake, but keep in mind that such app will drain your battery slightly faster.
@Uliwooly and all other readers.
For now the problem seems to have been solved. Used a battery monitor for a while but no app seems to be the culprit. So, after a lot of digging on the internet the problem was something my provider puts in their rom.
And that thing made things go corrupt and wonkers. It was the RCS (Rich Communication Services) that caused problems. I did not used it, not even able to select it but it was there. In the sms settings I saw all the option for chatting active.
Now, 3 days later after de-activating those options no more battery drain due to messaging services and normal battery.
