Alarm doesn't turn off

Alarm doesn't turn off

When my alarm rings in the morning (or any other time in fact) the screen becomes completely unresponsive, meaning I cannot use the slider to turn it off. The only solution I have found is to push the power button repeatedly try to get to the normal lock screen (which is also unresponsive at first) and mess around until that lets me unlock the phone go to the settings screen and turn the alarm off. Or simply reset the phone. This is a horrible way to wake up in the morning.

I have tested the alarm after turning off the Smart Connect "Night" setting, and I have also deleted all the clock app data, but the problem persists.

The alarm clock worked fine at first - it happened a couple of times, but has now happened for the last four mornings in a row or whenever I test the alarm during the day.

Does anyone know what's going on?

It is so strange! Took the cover off at the weekend, reset the phone and set an alarm in the morning. Ever since then the phone has been totally fine. So i would advise if people are using these covers and are having problems to remove them.  Can't believe a silly little case caused this much much.

Such a happier Sony user now though!

Well that would be strange. When the problem started I had just switched to a Roxfit case. At the
moment though it is working fine with the case so impossible to test.

Thanks for your help.

My Z1 compact is about 10 days old and the alarm I have to power off the phone to stop the alarm. There is no slider button or alarm icon visible when the alarm goes off. I've performed the update as suggested but, no change.

I have tried removing the Rixfit case too. Phone now works like a charm.

I actually tested this: when the phone screen is on, and i put the roxfit front cover on, the phone starts acting weird. I dont fully close it (otherwise i couldn't see what is going on). SO, when the alarm goes on, the screen goes on too, to show you the alarm, and if u have something on the sensor, it mixes it up and you cant shut it down. I haven't tested this with another phone case that has front cover but i have one different model than roxfit coming to me on mail.

So i'd suggest to at least avoid roxfit  covers.

This problem doesnt seem to be on every phone, as i've said in many of my posts, my bf has the same phone and also roxfits cover, and he has no problems.

I think this problem is really irritating and should be on top lists of problems that sony should solve, ans ppl use their alarm clock every day !

Same here brand new Xperia Compact that I cant turn the alarm off, also it wont work on a usb lead in the car and wont connect to the bluetooth either in the car, looks like I'll be back at Apple very soon unless Sony sort these issues out.

I purchased my phone some 2 weeks ago, started struggling with my alarm since day 3 and I don't have any casing on my phone.

I was so excited about my phone but now I am so frustrated, don't think I will recommend this phone to any one.  Slightly_frowning_Face

Think I've just fixed mine

Try going to Personalisation/Manage Notifications. I seen that I had the Clock App as set to disabled. Just enabled it and tried an alarm and my swipe right to turn off finally appeared again!!

Hope this helps...

This problem is directly related to the case for me. I bought the Roxfit case, which is supposed to be the official case for the phone and the problem started.

I now use a different case or no case and the problem has gone away. It's frustrating because I prefer the Roxfit case, and also I can't understand why the case would affect this. It's weird.

Wow, every time I have more fear of opening my new compact z1 when I get home. I see a lot of past mistakes playing in Z1C, seriously Sony, do you fix a problem right?
In my Arc also happens sometimes, and the only solution is to turn off the phone, or get the battery, plugging the speaker with your hand so that the sound is heard outside least posible.reunion.

I remember one day, in a job reunion that my alarm began to sound, I forget to turno off previously, and no way to turn off it when it start to sound. I have to go out of the room, and take off the batery.
