Hello,
My name is Jonathan.
I have bought a Sony Xperia Z3. It was the biggest mistake i ever made on a phone.
The phone is not even 2 years old and i already had to send it 5 times for reparations.
This is not normal and very frustrationg !!
I contacted my shop, the reparation service and Sony NL.
Everyone understands but cant help..
Eventually i get an answer from Sony: Because they replaced the motherboard at the second reparation it is a "new device" they say?!
So the 2 newest reparations, (like a broken on/off buton) i have to find normal ??
The service i get from sony is very very bad.
I think everyone who gets a phone like this and have to send it over and back the whole time wouldn't find this normal !
I don't care if the motherboard is replaced like 5 times, i have to keep send it back and forth i am not helped !
I'm sorry to hear about this issue but this is a user based forum. You will have to stay in contact with them, your Local support
Gooie morgen!
I have a Sony Z3 too bought in NL, you can find my messages here. First I had a problem with unresponsive screen, they gave me a new phone. This was within weeks after purchase (Sep 2015). One year later I had a battery problem (fast discharge, and charging process issues). They changed battery (and I hope they also changed the sealing ring + waterproof test).
If they changed your mortherboard is fine, but that doesn't make it a new device, as changing parts in this device by official service involves to change other parts to keep water & dust tightness, which I hope they do fine but such manipulations so many times don't give a good feeling thinking on future reliability.
Your case seems to be worse, but I wonder the same as you: now is under warranty, but at this rate, what happens if we keep on having the same problems (or others)? You might pay once, but not on a yearly or quarterly basis. I would be really surprised if these problems won't come again after warranty expires.
So far service for me is nomral, under warranty they change things, but phone fails again and again. My next phone will be one of these chinese ones that arless than one third of this one price, with virtually same specs and no worse reliability, and if I have to change it, it will be less painful than buying a 500 euro one.
Regards
In the shop (MediaMarkt) they told me i was not the only case.
Apparently with Sony it happens often that some people need to send their phone back many times.
Thanks to the support.. not.. It's the last thing i bought from Sony ever again.
And i will disadvice anyone who thinks about buying a Sony for sure.
Yep, many cases... For me this is the last Sony product I buy, I used to be a fan (especially on HiFi) in the past but after this experience no more, and I am not blaming offical service because so far they repaired (or gave me a new one when screen failed), but when I am out of warranty, they will charge me at least prices around 1/4 its original price, therefore, no good value for money... I have also convinced a few close people who wanted to buy sony phones and I'm not the only one...
