Hi all:
I just got my Xperia XZ1, and I have noticed that the screen does looks yellow compared to Xperia XZ and other smartphones like LG G6 when the screen show white color.
I know that we can change the Blue color in the white color balance option to make the screen looks more blue like other smartphones.
but my question is """" Is All The XZ1 Units Screens Show The White Color More in The Yellow Side ? """""
to explain more ............ the white color in the XZ1 looks like yellow !!!!
the Xperia XZ1 screen is a very crisp and clear one, I do feel that colors are alive but I'm wondering if all XZ1 units have the same screen or my XZ1 screen have a problem and if there is a problem is it a software or hardware problem ???????
i just got a XZ1 to replace my returned XZ premium, and yes the screen is warmer, but i like it, as it's less straining on my eyes, and doesn't really have any affect on pictures or videos and you get used to the tone after a few minutes.
I hope that is the case.
actuly it does feel yellow more than the other smartphones and even some XZ1 units, I'm lossing my interest in that phone and I'm thinking to sell it & get another smartphone.
No answer or statement from Sony to confirm that issue
Have you tried adjusting the white balance?
I find that can tune the display how I like it.
there's nothing sony can do other than replcace the screens to those from different batches, as it's hardware, and some screens are cooler and some warmer, but it's also down to personal preference.
I have just switched from a Z5 (of 2 years) to XZ1, and have to say, the white balance on my Z5 gives a paler, more crystal clear display. The display on this XZ1 is far too warm for my liking. The red hue in the white balance settings needs to be pushed down a few more notches than it actually can go. This may seem trivial to some, but for me it is a real problem. The warmth of the screen is really bugging me, especially when I put it beside my Z5. The cooler screen of the Z5 gives the display a far more superior look. It is crisp and clear, where the XZ1 looks like it has a filter on the screen that I want to brighten. I am so frustrated by it that I am concidering returning the phone and keeping my Z5, because for a 3 year old phone it actually looks the more superior display.
Any news about ths screen? Does newer buches have other panel? We must find how to report the issue to sony in order to calibrate it in the next update.. I think it can be solved with better whote calibration and a little bit more saturated colors on default settings.
I just bought a xperia XZ1 from 5 days, a real problem with the white color which looks yellow compared to other smartphone !! i don't know if it is a problem with only some XZ1 or it is the same for all! It is a choice from Sony or there are problems with production?! I'm very disappointed and i will try to return it
We don't still know if this is a bad screen manufacturer or maybe some Safety LAW Regulations that pushed Sony to decrese bluish UV tint to protect user's eyes. Thinking deeply it might be the reason. On the other hand, We can still slide blue LEDs configurator more to the right, to make it more Amoled'ish..
Anyway, anyone can set-up the screen to his own preferences, from pinky reddish to hulk green whites, so I don't get the whole "It's yellowish, give me my money back!" action. It's stupidity as Sony preinstalled a solution for every eyes preferences. Right?

I have 4 of the Xperia XZ1. Two from the USA, one from Taiwan and one from Japan.
They all have flawless screen color. That said, there's a slight tiny variation in each. Tiny. You have to inspect all 4 in a line to see which leans more blue or more yellow, but they all look super white on their own.
When I compare them to my XZ2 Premium, I far prefer the perfect whites and brightness of the XZ1.
Don't get me wrong. There are so many issues with the screen. People buy this phone with the hard earned money. So they expect something good.
My Xperia XZ1 is highly pixelated but Sony( SBE UK) said it doesn't have a issue. Never had pixelated phone like this since the iphone 3Gs..... Now asking my money back is not wrong. Sony should a better screen or replace the screen or device. They should do that. They are hiding behind SBE UK who covers warranty for Sony mobile UK.
