Xperia XZ1 screen looks yellow compared other smartphones

Hi all:

I just got my Xperia XZ1, and I have noticed that the screen does looks yellow compared to Xperia XZ and other smartphones like LG G6 when the screen show white color.

I know that we can change the Blue color in the white color balance option to make the screen looks more blue like other smartphones.

but my question is """" Is All The XZ1 Units Screens Show The White Color More in The Yellow Side ? """""

to explain more ............ the white color in the XZ1 looks like yellow !!!!

the Xperia XZ1 screen is a very crisp and clear one, I do feel that colors are alive but I'm wondering if all XZ1 units have the same screen or my XZ1 screen have a problem and if there is a problem is it a software or hardware problem ???????

Hi @Tarek1980,

Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?

Many electronic displays have a bias towards one color or another to varying degrees, but if you post a screenshot, we can have a look at give you some feedback.

Xperia XZ1

Android Oreo version (8.0.0)

Build Number: 47.1.A.2.374

by the way compared to Xperia XZ which it does handle white balance much better in defult setting still XZ1 looks yellow.

not sure if I have faulty unit or it is software issue ?!!

The right screen looks brighter, but it doesn't look any whiter/your screen doesn't look yellow... At least in my opinion.

My partner should have her Xperia XZ1 on Monday (we're waiting for it to be delivered), so if no one has replied by then, I'll compare it to your pictures and we'll go from there.

Thank you for your answer.

I have compared my XZ1 (right) with another XZ1 in the showroom (left)

I will let you & other judge which one show better real white color.

Keep in mind, the showroom devices run a demo mode which absolutely messes with the normal color balance.

Okay,

So my partner received her (brand new) Xperia XZ1 today and when we compared it to her Xperia XZ Premium, the latter does in fact look "whiter"... More importantly though, is the fact that my partner also insists she can see a slight "yellow" tint to the display.

In all honesty, I still can't see it, but my partner insists that it's there, though she says it's extremely subtle.

This leads me to believe that it is not a manufacturing fault or anything like that, but rather the display used by this particular model...

Therefore, if those "white balance" shown in the photos above have everything at "0", then that's probably as "white" as your screen is going to get.

Thank you for your efforts to clear this issue.

I believe that Sony will face more issues with the XZ1 screen, as more reports about display issues.

I already sent a request to change this faulty unit as I think and I'm waiting for the seller reply, hope it will be soon.

can see a slight "yellow" sometimes or "Red" tint to my display only on the boot up screen, after that the issue gose away.
