Hi there.
I have a brand new Xperia XZ, not even had it 2 weeks yet. I went away the weekend just gone (I live in the UK) to Italy for four days. My XZ did not receive a network signal the whole time I was away. I tried every trouble shooting option possible. I also
tested my SIM card in my wife's phone and it received a signal instantly. This is very frustrating. I run my own business and need to be in constant contact with my clients. I was left without a usable phone for the whole time I was away. Once I landed back in the UK I switched the phone back on and it instantly received a mobile network signal. I have had several different types of mobile phone (all the way back to a simple Nokia before smartphones) and never had an issue receiving a signal while abroad. For the last 8-9 years I have had an Apple iPhone and never once not had a signal abroad (and I have travelled extensively). I am starting to regret my decision to move away from Apple and try my luck with a Sony. Please respond with answers/solutions/options asap as if I am not happy with the explanation and I receive no reassurance I need to return the phone within the cooling off period asap and go back to Apple.
Thanks
Sony has a huge software problem and can t risolve it. Bought the XZ, same thing first travel abroad through the whole system heywire. Not an inch of help from Sony, just sorry excuses. Restarted phone, did software repair, download updated network settings to no avail. Utterly complicated guaranty locations issues. I had a Z3, loved it, was looking to upgrade outside of the two market dominators, hopefully Sony would be it, but great disappointment. Learn how to take care for your clients SONY
Hi
I also have the same problem with using my Sony Xperia abroad. I had issues in Prague last year, which I put down to being a blip and then issues again in Berlin this year. I went onto the online help chat through wifi whilst in Berlin and followed all of the instructions but it didn't work, went back onto the chat about 4 times and what they were telling me to do didn't solve the problem. Everytime I tried to connect to the internet it would say roaming data not enabled but it was switched on. I tried each of the network providers coming up in the list and wasted way too much time of my trip trying to solve the issue. Phoned my network provider when I got back and they said all of the connections were fine so it wasn't there issue and to go back to where I bought my phone. Carphone Warehouse were very helpful and checked all of the settings, one of the guys even said he had the same problem and gave me a number to text when going abroad and also suggested a factory reset at home, but other threads have said this doesn't work. I have done the advice in this thread and will soon be going to Poland so I am hoping that my phone will work but I suspect not from what other people have said. So now we're all stuck with this issue. My network provider won't let me out of my contract unless I pay and Sony just give advice that doesn't work. I had been happy with the phone as I bought it due to the quality of the camera but I don't think I'll ever buy one again, having switched from Samsung that I didn't have any issues with it's been a learning curve.
So Sony, do you have a fix to this widespread problem yet?
Same problem here, Sony Xperia XZ Premium on Vodafone showed "No Service" the entire time I was in Ireland, the second I crossed into Northern Ireland the phone was fine. Tried everything suggested in this forum to no luck. Sort it out Sony
Have the same problem
I love xperia XZ premium that I got March 2018, International phone works just great with T-mobile in CA, USA.
Currently in Montreal Canada and the data roaming is not working at all. No signal bar at all even tho my phone is registered on mobile internet. (using airport wifi to write this post) please see attached picture.
Sony, please look into this problem. Very disappointed about this problem. It has affected my confidence to get another Sony phone.
