Can't use music apps

I use Spotify and it constantly stops playing then google assist pops up Incessantly. It's infuriating! 

Bandcamp stops often also. The Sony app is better but still stops when it wants.

Oh the goes up and down as it pleases. I couldn't turn the screen off last night with the power button. That came right eventually. Music apps will start playing for no reason. I can't use volume and on off on my headphones.

I've had the phone for 3 weeks. Should not be happening with a flagship phone.

Those are quite a bit of issues, could you test the phone in >>> safe mode this will disable any third party apps. Also, does your phone has a protective case, film and/or glass? does Google assistant launch randomly?

I have a case but not one that covers the screen. In safe mode the ring/notifnotifica volume randomly goes up and down. Don't know what safes was supposed to help as Spotify is disabled.

Since I'm now back out of safe mode predictive text doesn't work.

Yes google assist pops up randomly.

Resesting the phone also achieved nothing. If anything it's worse.

Did you try a reset and just reinstall Spotify only?

A more or less clean machine?

Maybe your device's screen is hypersensitive.

Seems like you should invite Sony support to have it repaired.

Remove the protective case/film/glass > clean the screen > test the phone, perhaps the protective case/film/glass it's launching Google Assistant.
