Z3+ fast charge issue, with sony uch10 take only 600mA at 9V ,~5.4W and 1.3 A at 5V 6.5W

i have just receved my new Z3+ indian version.

after updating upto Android 6.0 . lastest version .

as i can see after few charege tests all from ~2% battery , first with simple sony CP-AD2 5V 2.1A charger it take around 1.3A ,~6.5W, the battery is ~ 11WAh, so it will take around 2 hours or more to full charge, no problem.

but when i charge with  sony quick charger uch10 ,

it take only ~600mA , at 9V with is ~5.4W ,this even less than normal charger.  so it is going to take even more time than normal charging. it takes around 2.5 hours to full charge.

, quick charge claim battery to be 60% in 30minute  but it is only 20% because of low current.

so i wanted to ask is there any issue with my phone or charger?

or you "sony" limits the charging rate in Android 6.0 because of minor heating issues with eairly version of android?

if you are limiting then at least limit to a little higher so that it will be qual to nomal charing at 5V.

it is really "stupid " have quick charge and charge even show than normal charging.

i hope to get some help

i suggest to have your phone and charger checked at your local service center: http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/ because this seems to be a hardware query

it is actually a software question for me.

the only thing i wanted to know is , "is sony limiting charge current to be ~600mA at 9V  in lastest version of android? because of any reason what so ever, (may be notorious heating issue)"

if any offical sony person comes in , that will be really helpful.

 Hi @mit_z3plus,

Welcome to the community.

Sony does not limit the charging speed of the quick charger based on the information I currently have available to me.

There could be any number of reasons that this is happening, but based on the information you have provided it sounds like the charger may be faulty.

Are you able to test the charging while the phone is in safe mode and see if the issue persists?

okey , then what should i suppose to do , should i get it replaced or is there any way to verify weather charger is faulty or the cell phone is? before i go for replacement.

@mit_z3plus,

Try charging it in safe mode first, then try charging it with the phone turned off.

If possible, try using the charger on another quick charging compatible device if there is one available to you.

@CameronT

i have verified with device off.

when off , it take 1.4 A at 9V which is 12.6W every thing is fine. charging really fast. so now i can say neither charger nor the device hardware is faulty.

today will verify the same in safe mode also.

so i am sure it has something to with software. in normal android use the time when incomming call or some processing happen current rise to 1A at 9V ,

one More issue i discovered, i think may be hardware or software issue,

Flash light flicker after 15 seconds of use when using as torch and screen is off, when screen is on everything is fine .when camera is using flash it works fine of course screen is also on then.

flash light licker in safe mode also , with one 3rd party app i have tried , phone get hot after alittle while ,as if the camera may be switched on by the 3rd party app in background.

i am facing this issue in my device. please confirm who ever have this device

i have also verfied in safe mode also , at 9V current goes from around 1A to minimum 600mA.

as i plugged the charger some time it take 1A , after few minutes it keep on dcresing at a rapid pase and finally settle to same old ~ 600mA

I had tested my z3+ that when it is cool it receives more mah as compare to when it is hot mine at 4.2**V receives 1.8A when temperature remains near 25 C as i tested by putting ice cube below my z3+ when it is getting hot hehe but after removing the ice cube the mah just goes down to 650mA at near 36 C that is why charging goes slow when device get heated while its own when charging.
