Xperia Z5 Compact black Screen

Hi Everyone,

Looking for some help with my phone.

A couple of weeks ago I went on a Skiing holiday. My phone was kept in a coat pocket on the inside of the coat zipped up however the coat itself was un zipped. I noticed after not bashing/dropping/knocking the phone it had a hairline crack on the back of the phone from the top to the bottom. Initially I thought I may have knocked it without realising or bumped it altough I knew I did not as it was in a hard/big case.

Anyway a couple of days after this the screen went completly black and would not show anything even though the touch screen works as well as sound. I cannot get past my phones encryption page to test calls out. However I know now for certain I have not damaged the phone at all. Has anybody heard of this happening to them and any fixes? I have tried taking the screen protector off, but this did not fix the issue.

Please help.

Best Regards

Hi @roo10,

Based on the information you have provided I recommend you contact your Local support team to arrange a repair.

Hi Cameron,

Thankyou for the quick response. I will contact them over the issue however do you know on weather I will have to pay?

The idea of sending your phone to them to access and charge you money just to get it back seems rediculous and I am not paying for something that I haven't broken.

Have you heard of similar cases?

Thanks again for your response Slightly_smiling_Face

@roo10,

I am not sure if you will have to pay I'm afraid, that will be up to your local support team and the repair agents. Warranty differs from region to region.

I have heard of peoples phones breaking quite a lot, yes. I have not seen a case where it has broken without some form of external stress however.
