I just bought in less than a week. I also bought a case that covers both front and rear, and I install a screen protector.
I keep my phones (this one and the old one, HTC One X+) in my sling bag along with my laptop. Yesterday, I just realised that my Sony Xperia Z3 screen crack.
Is it possible that the screen can crack by itself or probably with some VERY VERY minimal impact? I have never had this problem before with other phones, Samsung, HTC, Iphone etc! This is a total disappointment, the quality is very bad! The screen is very fragile! After yesterday only I noticed that many people experienced the same!
I will not encourage friends to buy this phone! I have not taken the phone for repair at Sony store yet, but I am very sure it is not covered under warranty! I just use it for less than a week, this is ridiculous.
Can I have some explaination from Sony management?

Just wanted to share my experience with the sony xperia Z3 compact. I had both glass cracked. Back side broke in my pocket, front side broke after a 40cm drop on wooden floor. I talked to customer service and got a RMA so I sent the phone for repair hoping warranty will cover. SBE (Canada) which provide repair service for Sony sent me a bill of 209$+tax. They told me to talk back to sony to see if it could be covered under warranty.
Explaining to Sony that I was not alone in that case and admitting it was a physical damage but the problem was the durability of the phone, I was hoping some help from Sony. Not so surprisingly they totally denied the phone had design issue. "How can you make such a fragile phone?" I was asking. The screen can crack so easily and will make it unresponsive to touch (unusable phone!!!). After several calls, I apparently talk to different persons (although it seemed it was the same guy changing his name, unbelievable I know) telling that a famous "Carlos" was supposed to review my case. They never knew if that guy was in or not, very convenient I have to say. On the last call he was gone, and then he appeared to finally deny my case.
Adding insult to injury, they explained that since the glass had broken several times I worsen the case of the phone!!! In my pov, this is just an excuse to not cover the repair under warranty and to avoid any debat on the phone durability.
In conclusion the sony z3 compact is a piece of crap. Do not buy that phone!!! Sony customer service is poor and are lying. They use poor tactics to confuse customers. By the way, when I call SBE to finally pay for the repair, they confessed they "were receiving a lot of z3" and that they were "very fragile phones". I swear it is true!
Sony deserves a class action on this. That Z3 and all the advertisement associated is a full scale con! BEWARE!
