Xperia P shutting down after inserting a Sim card.

Hi,

Updated my Xperia P recently to JB.Was Working fine for a day or two then suddenly the phone shut down automatically.Sent it to Service Center n got the software updated .Still the phone shuts down as soon as I insert a Sim card.The service center guy asked me to change my Sim card.I did it but the problem persists....It runs perfectly well without a Sim?What to do ...????

my xperia ray facing  same problem, its working fine in offline mode. the moment it goes online it restarts. please suggest a solution. i tried softwere updates and other things mentioned int eh suport forums

@G96 - Have you tried a secondary SIM in the phone?

Just to reintroduce this thread, 

I have the exact same problem as mentioned by the OP one year ago. 

My Sony LT22i runs Android 4.1.2 (don't know if this information is of any value). 

I have no problems operating the phone when I have no SIM-card inserted. 

However when I do insert my SIM-card and have succesfully put in my SIM-code, it remains on for about 3 seconds saying 'code accepted' and then abruptly shuts down. 

Can someone maybe post a screenshot of how the standard settings should look like following the (dial *#*#4636#*#* steps) someone posted earlier? Or is there someone out there who is able to give clear guidelines on how to restore my phone to normal functioning (in proper English)?

Hello, i am facing same problem with my Xperia P since a month and i am shocked to realize that i have wasted 5 days on internet just to search for the solution of this issue, but i didn't expect that even sony can't help you out at this scenario then how any other can? I am just frustrated being searching for the resolution of this case.

I had the same problem, i have fixes it but now my phone restarts on receiving calls or using sim data for long

Followed your steps, updated the phone, changed the sim card, flashed the phone. in fact i am confused.
