Xperia P shutting down after inserting a Sim card.

Hi,

Updated my Xperia P recently to JB.Was Working fine for a day or two then suddenly the phone shut down automatically.Sent it to Service Center n got the software updated .Still the phone shuts down as soon as I insert a Sim card.The service center guy asked me to change my Sim card.I did it but the problem persists....It runs perfectly well without a Sim?What to do ...????

What happens exactly if you turn off the phone, insert your SIM-card and then try to start the phone?

Have you tried another SIM-card and tried making a repair of the phones software in PC Companion?

I have tried that too and its not working.. without the sim card phone works perfect even wifi..

but  as soon as i insert the sim card phone restarts and immediately turns off.. 

What i understand is it is some network related problem..if the phone put on Flight Mode then also works well.. 

It get turned off whenever it searches for the mobile network..

I have purchased it from Saudi Arabia so the local service centers are not even ready to take a look on it... 

May i know what would be the actual problem ?? Would it be network locked?? what should i do now??

Unfortunately if the SIM works in another phone and another SDIM in your phone gives the same problem then I am inclined to believe it to be either an odd software issue or a hardware problem with the SIM reader. If you have already tried a software repair then I can only advise you to return the phone so that it may be looked at sorry.

You likely need to source the internet settings again: Main Menu > Settings > Xperia > Internet Settings > Accept.

It's been almost a year facing this problem.. Still not able to get any proper solutions... Sony care please care for your customers
