Uninstalling Applications That Are Locked or Stock Apps [bloatwares]

Hi,

I have a lot of unused and unimportant (for me) applications

that are running in the background. I can disable some, but

I would rather uninstall them for good.

I want to uninstall apps that do not have uninstall options, those

that came from stock. Is there a way to safely do this? They

consume memory and CPU and battery.

Eljun, you have to root your phone to freeze or remove this bloatware (apps we dont want but comes with our phone pre-installed). If you have root, you can use app like Titanium Backup to freeze apps or to remove them completely, make sure if you are rremoving apps that this apps are stand alone meaning it is not needed by other apps to run..........

Has anyone have any luck rooting the new JB for Sony Xperia Go?

Also, how do you know if an app is stand alone or not? that is why I

also asked if there is a way to safely remove these apps, bloatware as

you called them.

My JB is rooted but you must have ICS installed first...............usually apps like gmail and google+ are recommended not to be uninstall but others are safe to remove...............

Step by Step upgrade to Xperia go ST27 Jellybean-Rooted-Locked bootloader-CWM

(This guide is by no means taking credit on anything but this is my personal experience

in upgrading my Xgo to JB, credit goes to Sir Jaicy)

Requirements:

1. Rooted ICS phone

2. ClockworkMOD or CWM version 6.0.1.2 (version 5.5.0.4 will not work)

4. Jellybean ST27i 6.2.A.0.400 firmware (I use the Hongkong version)

5. Flashtool file (http://androxyde.github.io/)

Procedure:

1. Download JB.zip to your phones SD Card (not microSD)

2. Install CWM on your Xgo, follow instructions from the link above

3. Turn off phone and turn it on again this time pressing the down key until CWM open

4. To navigate inside CWM use you volume up and down keys, to select use the power button

5. From the CWM menu, select MOUNT and STORAGE, select MOUNT / SYSTEM, go back

6. Select INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD, then select CHOOSE ZIP FROM SDCARD, then select          the file JB.zip

7. After successfully installing JB.zip, you must force shutdown your phone,

     press POWER+VOLUME UP+VOLUME DOWN simultaneously for about 8 to 10 seconds, until

     you feel 3 vibrations, do not turn on your phone.

8. Install flashtool (usually it will install at (C:\Flashtool), after installation copy the downloaded

     Jellybean 6.2.A.0.400 firmware ftf file to the folder (C:\Flashtool\firmwares\)

9. Run flashtool, click the LIGHTNING icon, choose Flashmode, press OK, select your firmware,

     Under Exclude: window on the right side of the screen, checkthe following: Exclude system,            Exclude baseband, Exclude Fota, and Exclude partition. Do not touch any other checkboxes,

     press OK

10. Now time to flash your Xgo, while holding down VOLUME DOWN key, insert the USB cable and

     Flashtool program will immediately start flashing your phone. After flashing, flashtool will display

     message Disconnect phone.

11. Disconnect USB cable and start your phone, boot up will take quite a while.

12. Run CWM installer again after boot, now you have a Jellybean-Rooted-Locked Bootloader-CWM

     Xgo. Enjoy.

Woah! This is cool. I haven't really tried updating my phone using flash tools, this would be the first if given a chance.

but I will have to revert back to ICS to be able to do this steps.

Yes you have to revert back to ICS all the links for the needed file are provided.............ftf link file is located at number 4 above............

Do you have an FTF for the rooted ICS bro?

P.S. The one from the official ICS realease by Sony, I got to use ICS .10 release.
