After continually being disappointed by the X10 product due to lack of features that almost all other competing android phones already have as well as plan to support, I'm returning all X10 phones I have purchased and switching to another company.
Not only has Sony Ericsson not listened to close to a year of complaints about the lack of features that are either possible with updates or impossible because they did not correctly anticipate and evaluate the market and the current features that competitors offer, but they also continue to disappoint by not offering good support for the customers that have invested their money (and time) into their X10 product. There is no reason why a company with the resources and experience that Sony Ericsson possesses should even offer an android phone that is not consistently being kept up-to-date. Many customers, new and returning, continue to voice their opinions and disappointment about the Xperia X10. Still SE has NOT ONCE delivered on any major feature that should of already been available from the launch of the X10 product in a timely manner and even after a long wait in the United States for the phone to be available, there still were no changes to the phones dives in low volume for media or in call communication, support of Adobe Flash, battery life, and version of their watered down Android system along with other features. This is not even including the fact that an easy and common sense feature in the hardware (multi-touch) is not supported.
After so much frustration and time invested in use of the X10 phone, work-arounds, and research into what little Sony Ericsson has done to pacify customers, I am returning all X10 phones my family, friends, and company have purchased in lieu of a device and company that actually knows, listens, and attempts to offer what their current and future customers want.
I would like to reach out to all other unhappy X10 owners in a mutual understanding that we were mislead and have wasted our time in SE, and hope that we can inform all of our personal contacts to not follow our mistake in believing that the X10 would be upgraded to 2.1 (or even 2.2) with 16m colors, Flash support, and other fixes. I also wish those who are currently satisfied with the X10 luck with their investment as I no longer can afford to spend my company and personal time in this vain device or manufacturer.
Sincerely,
J. Moore
- Ex-Xperia X10 owner.
I also meant the flash light not the adobe flash.
I agree what the hell SE was thinking putting that thing on the phone when it does not work.
But anyway, I hope 2.1 will change our mind and also hopefully SE will not give up on X10 and we will see Android 2.2 SOON!
I wouldn't wait on 2.2 for X10. If it is coming it will be next year. And that is a BIG "IF".
I am disappointed with SE for that reason only. If you compare X10 with Galaxy S I feel that they do not have much differences but still Galaxy S came with Android 2.1 but X10 with 1.6. I think X10 has a great potential but SE is just giving up on this product.
Has anyone else experience problems while connected to a bluetooth headset? (i.e. limited range from phone, volume randomly decreasing, phone randomly disconnecting from headset, etc...) I've tried both my Jawbone prime and Bang & Olufsen Earset 2... Same results. I also use Mac OS X and it took me 3 days to learn how to sync the phone with my contacts and calendar... I've only had the phone for 8 days, but I plan on returning it by the end of the week.
No. I have been having great reception. But mind you, after trying all major phone devices from different manufacturers, I ralize that generally, the same brand products matches better.
BTW, I used SE HBH-IS800 and the reception distance is truly amazing. I can receive strong BT signal at least 5 meters away, separated by brick+concrete walls.
