Have an xperia e4g for around 2 weeks.
Works quite good except for a battery issue after around 50%
I am not a power user, and a drop from 100% full charge to 50% takes 1.5 days. But once it reaches 50%, it drops down very rapidly and shuts down in 4 hrs, even if the usage is very similar or even less.
Battery Usage shows Android system and Screen taking around 30% each - all others appear ok.
Have gone through some of the discussions and tried things like press power+volume until 3 vibrations, and smilar - but no avail.
Is anyone else facing this issue?

I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion..
Before repairing your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to.
How to backup?
Thanks. The "force shutdown" did not help. I will try with PC Companion.
Another strange thing I noticed is the way it charges. In all other phones I had, the charging would initially be "fast" if battery is depleted, and as it approached 100% charge, it will slow down. In my E4G it is the reverse. Like, it charges from 30% to 40% very slow, but much faster from 80% to 90%.
Was about to repair in PCC, when it prompted for a new update.
Let me run this new update for a week, and see if this helps.
Still no luck 😞
I am pretty sure it is the display. I repaired the system, so it is a brand-new system with nothing installed...Still if I read somethig in chrome browser for 10 mins, battery reduces by 5%. Plain reading with nothing else running! Also tried changing brightness from auto to lowest.
Through the night (9hrs), it loses 10% with WiFi and 4% without Wifi or data. Very respectable. And so is the discharge on calls (abt 3% for 30 mins call, if I remember correctly).
Sony has claimed a 2-day batt life, which appears impossile with my screen-on time of around 1.5 - 2 hrs. So, would this be specific to my phone?
Two things would save battery -
Switch off Google Location (Now is ok)
Use 3G only if absolutely needed. This is a great battery drinker for this phone. (Am not sure whether it is due to my network - but then my old Nokia 720 used to last 3 days on the same!)
Now battery lasts for a day and half ( in stamina, though
Hey
The procedure to forced shutdown on Xperia E4 is actually different
Check this link http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiae4g/userguide/Resetting-your-device/ and then see the thread posted by Phy above.
Oh and by the way, it's only if you have sudden battery drops. Not if there's a constant battery drain, because then it's a different issue.
