No sound when using garmin gps on xperia x10

Although the maps work perfect, I just cannot seem to get voice prompts from the phone. I have selected the language, but there is no sound. Cananyone assist?

Check your app settings for voice prompts and turn it on--also check the volume on the phone.

There should be an options-settings-voice prompts (or similar) function when you open the application.

Let me explain more: When you select voice prompt, it says "playing voice sample" but there is no sound. So when I tap on select, there simply is no sound from there on forward.

Are you using wired earphones, or even bluetooth, at the same time? If so, try unplugging them first.

Still nojoy. But what does this "maximum speed" setting mean. Is it perhaps the speed you set before the voice prompts activate?

In that case, check the volume on your phone and also check using your headphones.Failing this, it could be that you need to download sound files from the internet through the application, something which the app should prompt you to do when you first open it; what other options do you have in the settings of the app?

I appreciate you guys helping me, but still no joy. The sound is turned on.  turned the bluetooth off, I tried the headset, still no voice prompt. Any other suggestions?

I just used Wisepilot and it works 100%, sound and all. However, the Garmin only shows the maps and directs me, but without sound. Do you have any idea what sound files I should download and where?
