Hello all, I have a great problem with my XPERIA X10 Mini Pro. I am not able to receive any files from my PC (Vaio, Widows Vista). When ever I try to send a file using Bluetooth I receive an error message (even if mobile is paired with pc). This is the same case with other mobile phones also (not able to receive files from other mobile phones using Bluetooth), and at times my device is not even discovered (Please note that I have made my device discoverable and know that it will remain discoverable for 120 seconds only)
Somebody please help me to solve this problem. Please...
Another problem I have encountered with Bluetooth is that when paired with my laptop the phone automatically answers to incoming calls.
Please help me out in the above problems.
Are you using the 'Bluetooth File Transfer' app from the market? Can you give the steps that you have been using so maybe we can help you pin point where its going wrong.
Yes, I am using it. But I had problems before installing it. Now I pair with my PC and browse my PC folder using the file transfer application and copies files to my phone. I just need a simple way by right clicking the file on PC and send it to my phone. Please help me.
Hmmm, ok so the process I follow on my Win XP netbook is
Pair Netbook and Phone, so Bluetooth on and discoverable then select my netbook on my phones devices and select OK on the pop up message I get on laptop to pc.
Then whatever image I want to send accross I right click on it then send to the select x10 and enter. The laptop then says FTP and you see the progress bar etc. The file is then saved on my SD card on my phone. I use Astro file manager to view it and then move it to my picture file as my mediascape doesn't seem to pic up files directly on to the SD card.
The phone appears to be only able to 'see' files remotely in my Netbook in the Netbooks Bluetooth Exchange folder, so I guess as an alternative I could put a copy in there and then use the phone to grab it using the Bluetooth app.
Where is the system falling down for you?
On the phone answering, you have to turn off the headset function on your laptop. Had this problem with mine when playing music thought speaker on phone broken cos could hear tinny noise but actually it was playing it through my netbook speakers. That was in my bluetooth places and select X10 and configure from the Bluetooth tab at top of page. But again this is XP so prob different on Vista.
I too proceed with the same steps in Vista. I am able to send files to other bluetooth devices and other phones.
The problem occurs when I click send button in the window where we select the bluetooth device.
Right now I am at office. I will provide a screen shot of the problem soon.
Thanks suze, for your interest in solving my problem.

Hello again, this sounds like a Vista quirk rather than the phone. Our vista pc doesn't have bluetooth so I can't check for you. The only thing I could suggest its have a look at this link....
And see if its something in the set up on your pc that needs tweaking or the device reinstalling or something.
I hope you can find someone to help you out, so sorry that I couldn't.
No, its not just the problem with Vista. My phone is not able to receive files from other mobiles too.
i too have a problem with my bluetooth . i have downloaded the app bluetooh file transfer from the android market my phone connects to other phons it even receives files but the file type shows blueftp..view.. and after the connection between the two phones is shut the file doesn't open please help
Bluetooth File Transfer is able to preview a file from another device. The preview is actually a temporary file. As soon as you lose the connection to the device, the file is lost. But don't worry; there is a way to get files transferred.
When you open Bluetooth software you can see two tabs namely local and remote. Click on the remote tab and select the connected device from the list. Now you can browse the other device's folder. From there select the file you want to copy to your phone and click the menu (four square) button. In the menu you can see edit click it to see the option to copy. Now press the local tab and select a folder in your SD card where you want to keep the file and again press the menu button and click edit, now you can see paste option. Now the transfer will take place and the file will be permanently available in your SD card.
