Hi,
so I've got a Z5 compact, and the bluetooth sounds was very often stuttering, no matter what device it was connected to (car, BT headhphones, BT speakers, ...). Since the upgrade to 32.2.A.0.253, the problem seems to be gone, but now bluetooth often (every few minutes) turns itself off, and then back on. Sometimes I have to turn it on again myself.
Anyone else has that problem? Will that phone ever work the way it should?
Forgot to say that this happens with my car as well as with my Sony Bluetooth speaker (ironic isn't it).
The disconnection happens evey 15' or so, difficult to understand what triggers it. The speaker is near the phone and does not move. Never had any problem before the new release.
I know I should not be sarcastic, but hey I paid this Z5 compact close to €600.
Shortly after I bought it I faced the "WIFI disconnect when in standby", which has lasted for 6 months.
This new release fixed it (after 6 months) and introduced the bluetooth bug. I guess that in 6 months we will get a new release fixing the Bluetooth but which will then impact the 4G? Is that the way it works?
On my previous post here, I had issues with the Bluetooth not turning off/on and a restart of my z5 premium is needed everything just to turn it on, I did a software repair with a PC yesterday, since now I don't have any issues on that anymore, no disconnect bug with my SmartWatch after that. Its been 1St day since software repair so I hope there's no more issues.
I have a new Z5 Compact and I'm still on the 224 release (not yet 253). But I experienced the same problem you described - Bluetooth turned off by itself and couldn't be turned back on until after I restarted the phone. Only happened once so far.
Thanks for the advice didrik, I will contact support and post the outcome here.
Hi all,
I am facing issues with the bluetooth on my Z5 dual since the beginning but some more are present since update to .224.
Before the .224, any audio sent over bluetooth (APTX) used to to stutter at the beginning (generally when several app were running in the background); This seems less present now but:
- Since the .224, the bluetooth from the phone randomly disconnects (every 5 minutes). I have uninstalled several app by checking the restart of related bluetooth and audio service in developper mode. The problem could not be solved.
- Since the .253, the bluetooth seem to disconnect even more randomly and rapidly (every 2-3 min). I checked again the services running time, it seems that services: "Partage Blueetooth" (in english Bluetooth share) and "Smart connect" are stopping together and starting together soon after when it automaticaly reconnects.
I have noticed this issue is not present when I am home with not other bluetooth signals. When I activate the bluetooth on my computer then the issues appears again. In the office or in the transport, it seems that interferences are making the bluetooth completely instable. This was definitely not present on version before .224.
I also note since the .224 other issues that were not corrected on the .253:
- The battery graph is crashed: the graph does not restart after the charge reachs 100% anymore. The refresh button seems useless.
- The battery usage details are no more available.
- I tried to tick the automatic launch of the Stamina mode but finally noticed it was emptying the battery life much faster so I completed disabled this option.
It used to work perfectly before the .224 update, I updated to .253 and the issues was still present. For the record, I use a Plantronics Back Beat Pro featuring the APTX protocol which just works perfectly with any other devices (PC and other phones) so the issues definitely comes from the Z5.
Finally I would like to add that the Stamina mode is not as efficient as in the pre Marshmalllow versions, it looks more like an interface rebranding of the previous DOZE mode.
I shared these issues with Sony Xperia care teams, I have been advised to do a software repair... I do not want to wipe off all my settings and data so I hope Sony will correct this bugs as soon as possible. This does not look like corrupted system but definitely like bugs in the updates.
@BaZhAn
Thank you for letting us know.
Tonight, I will do a system reset (remove all apps) and see how that works, if that does not work, I'll get rid of it.
