Best Choice for me.

I tried to love the X10 and I did love the camera and how they tried to make 1.6 more bearable. All in all it's a great phone. But coming from the Droid and being a power user of sorts it didn't quite quench my gadget lust.  Alas, I went and turned my X10 back for a Captivate at the At&t store. The Captivate is great but I do miss the camera on the X10. But I got a good deal on a X10 for my daughter. She loves taking pictures, as I just bought her a vintage Minolta Hi-Matic 9 to add to her vintage collection. Even though I moved on to another phone, yet I have to keep her updated. And Sony please don't let my daughter down. Give her some 2.1 love. 2.2 would be even sweeter. Because the first thing she asked was what Android version was on the phone. Coming from a 11 year old.

She's looking forward to it. Like I said the X10 is a really nice smartphone. And Sony did a great job with modding 1.6.  Not being the "average " user, I needed my apps for 2.1 and 2.2. But she love the timespace and such. Trust me if the X10 had come with 2.1 when released to At&t they would have sold bookoo phones. I was the first one to get one from store here. But I kinda still have one and look forward to the 2.1 release. I will be following the chatter...

Your daughter is lucky.  X10 is a $500 phone.  Kids these days are so lucky.  Some of them are using better phones, computers, camera than the adults.  I was so proud 4 months ago when purchased this phone to show off to my friends (since US didn't have it yet).  It will be kind of funny if a 10 year old come up to me saying He's the the same phone!!!  ha ha.

Anyway, back to the Firmware.  It's already middle of September.  I bet SE is going to bounce their check and push back the Android 2.1 update to 4th quarter or later.
