android version 2.1 when?!....

hi guyz....im new to this site so im not yet familiar with all the things going on...but im planning to buy xperia x8 but one thing is troubling me it has version 1.6.....can i ask this thing....is version 2.1 available to download?...if it is where can i possibly download it?...plzzz rply...need really help here...T_T

So I contacted SE Portugal and they said that X8 update also started yesterday (November 1)

"já  foi iniciado o processo de implementação da versão Android 2.1 para  o Xperia X10, X10 mini, X10 mini pro e X8 desde o dia 1 de Novembro. A  nível Mundial"

Translated:

"already  started the process of implementation of Android version 2.1 for Xperia  X10, X10 mini, mini pro X10 and X8 from the 1st November. Worldwide level"

i dont think what that guy said that x8 android 2.1 is available now worldwide....cuz i tried to update my x8 and after doing so it still has android 1.6....beside sony ericsson did not announce yet when is the exact date for xperia x8 update......

I confused too... that's why I already contacted Jeff via PM.

And it is not because you can't update that the update is not out. SE lauches 2.1 a region at time, for instance, last sunday they started updating nordic's X10 so a person in Portugal can't update yet

I've contacted the appropriate people and I'm expecting them to email you back.

We have only ever stated:

So you mean that I got wrong information from Sony Ericsson Portugal?

And is 2.1 REALLY coming out 'til the end of the year?

Unless they have some country-specific information that I am not aware of (entirely possible with a global company). That is why I've asked them to email you back.
