VGN-C2S modem driver for XP needed

Hello,
I have downgraded my new laptop Sony Vaio VGN-C2S from Vista to XP.
I didn't found the drivers on the sony.com web page so I had to download each driver from differents page. Now all the hardware is working fine on Windows XP. The only problem I have is with the modem.
Apparently the modem is: HDAudio SoftV92 Data Fax Modem with SmartCP (this is the information diplayed on the device manager under Vista, before the downgrade).

I have installed differents version of this driver, but all the attempt were unsuccessful.
The last driver tested, work fine, and the modem was detected, but when I put the laptop into suspend mode, the laptop restart instead of suspend, and if instead I put the laptop in hibernation mode, I received a blue screen and the laptop restart.
After I uninstalled the modem driver, hibernation mode and suspend mode work fine.

Do you know where I can found the modem driver for XP ?

Thanks.

Welcome to ClubVAIO

Try this one first as it is a "sony tested driver" but if this doesn't work -

You could try this one.

If that doesn't work try this one.

Good Luck

Hello,

Thanks for you help.
I tried the two the first links. There aren't working. Error message: "Wrong Computer Model".
The third link is a brocken link.
Another source or idea ?

Thanks again.

Hi satspydlg

Welcome to Club vaio..

Download the original drivers for the C1S from here , then extract the files..

Once the files are extracted open the modem folder and double click HXFSetup.exe.

Hopefully this should install the modem driver..

Hello,
It's working fine. I downloaded the driver for Windows XP of the model C1S, and I installed it.
The modem is working and there is no problem with the hardware when a put the computer in hibernation mode or suspend mode.
Thanks again.

I've also downgraded my VGN c2s but I'm missing to influence the brightness of the display with the function keys FN F5, FN F6, and all the other FN keys ....

Any sugestions?

I've tried the SonyNC.inf (6.0.0.2) form C1 Download .... no success!

Hi vaio12345,

Download the original Utilities for the C1S once downloaded extract and then install the following, in order.

1 Sony Utilities
2 Sony Shared Library
3 Vaio Event Service

Once completed then re-boot your vaio.

You may have to do this more than once..

Thank you,

it works fine! I had to install Vaio Event Service twice?????? The second installation I've done "the custom way" and clicked all the options .....

Now it works I can change the brightness and also the volume!

Are you also familiar with linux??????
