VAIO laptop external monitor resolution

My S5XP/B graphic card does 1280 x 800 resolution. Is it possible to drive a 1680 x 1050 large monitor (and get 1680 x 1050)?
Is there such a thing as an upgrade to the graphics card?
Is there such a thing as an external graphics card (with 1680 x 1050)?

You never used to be able to extend your desktop to another screen and have a different resolution but now nVidia seem to have sorted it.

Go to Laptopvideo2go.com and download a new driver with WQHL ticked and follow the instructions for installing it.

Then you will be able to drive your external monitor at any resolution you want!
