SNYUTILS.DLL FN keys, VAIO Event Service problems

Hi,

I just reinstalled a Windows Vista system on my VGN-SZ5MN/B, using the DVD.
The recovery partition has been deleted entirely from the system.

It appears that a few FN keys are not working anymore (Brightness -, Brightness +...). S1 and S2 have not been working since I reinstalled Vista.

However, VAIO Event Service is installed, the Setting Utility Series is installed.
If I am in the folder C:\Programs\Sony\Setting Utility Series\ an execution of VCCResolution.exe (or VCCSpecialButton.exe, SBM.exe, ...) gives the error message "snyutils.dll" not found.

So, I went to the sony ftp server, I tried the SUTILS subfolder to install the SNYUTILS.DLL, and I tried the different files, all of them. I have got an other error message "sysutils.dll attempted to go to (null)..."

I noticed that the VAIO Event Service crashed when installing some of the SUTILS files.

I tried to find a solution on that forum but searching has given nothing for now.

Well for at least the FN keys you need the preinstalled utilites and install the following in order and then reboot:

1. Sony Utilities
2. Sony Shared Library
3. VAIO Event Service.

I do remember one post about this and if i remember right it was Blencogo that managed to fix it.
