resolution problem / no more 1080p with new nvidia drivers on XL202 -.-

hi guys

me again ^^

ok , i have a new problem , i just updated to new nvidia driver and now i can not choose 1080p no more.

only 1920x1080 30kz ( 1080i) is avilable.

i tried to adjust the resolution with powerstripe but the picture gets messed up ( looks like the picture is split in two).

anyway , i`m useing a vgx-xl202 with vista.

i tried a few different nvidia drivers ( from vaio support , nvidia directly) but nothing seams to help , i`m out of ideas 😞

help would be much appreciated

thx
Jan

system restore to a time before you updated the driver.

no working vista driver for 1080p yet ?

i`m asking because i had some slight shuttering while watching movies in 1080p@24 with the old drivers.

thx

I tried the new drivers on my XL201 and I could set it to 1920x1080, but it would only allow me to have it at 30Hetrz interlaced as well, which looked awful. So I used Vista system restore to revert to the previous drivers.

Would've been nice if they'd actually tested the driver before uploading it...

The Sony released drivers will not support 1080p yet.

You will need to use a Beta driver from LaptopVideo2Go.com - choose a WHQL one like 162.22 and you should be able to set 1080p. Read the 'How To' guides on the site because you need to download the modded .INF file and add this to the download directory for your hardware to be recognised by the installer.

There is a little risk in using Beta drivers which are not fully tested, but this is small because you can always roll-back to your old driver.

When I installed the Vista upgrade, the Sony video drivers do 1080p just fine, its these new ones that are a problem.

I think I read on nvnews that this is a known issue with the 16x.xx drivers. They add overscan adjustment but break 1080p.
