Since upgrading to Vista I am unable to use windows media centre as it reports I don't have a tv tuner installled also my computer keeps trying to install a multimedia video controller but can't find drivers , it doesn't give me any clue as to what this multimedia video controller is could someone offer pointers please . I'm also trying to upgrade my bios but when I try i get an error "cannot read system information " can someone explain in simple language how to get around this please

Make sure you've turned off Aero, do this by doing the following:

Right click my computer
click properties
click on advanced
Under performance go to settings
Now turn it off.

If you haven't already, make sure you reinstall all the Vista utilities from the website above. If this doesn't work then the best thing to do is a full clean install of Vista to iron out XP related probs.

I had the same problem, try changing the colour scheme from aero to vista basic in your desktop appearence settings, it worked for me i can now use viao zone but not media centre.
