I have started getting demands for renewal from the Norton products installed on my new XL201 XP so I have installed a more reasonably priced alternative. However, I am having trouble evicting the sitting tenant. Does anyone know where can I edit my start-up menu and how I get rid of those .dlls that are demanding that I insert a disk I was never given before they will leave the premises.
I'm not happy just having cut their arms and legs off. I want them off the premises.
Hi lubbkiss,
Try the Norton Removal Tool
and then run a Registry Cleaner to get rid of any orphaned files (there are usually plenty). Something like Tune-Up Utilities 2008 has a 30-day free trial period - that should be long enough to exorcise the demon.
