Hi! I have a new VGN-AR51 and I installed/updated the drivers from the VAIO Support site. I performed a *wrong installation* of SigmaTel Audio Driver 6.10.5614.0, and ... sound was gone! I followed advice on the forum and uninstalled (both) sound drivers (Sigma and Realtek - DeviceManager>Sound, video&game controllers>uninstall). Upon rebooting, the computer installed some drivers, but the IDTAudio Driver&Applications was gone from my ControlPanel. I would have some sound, but either the laptop speakers, or the ext.speakers, or the mic would not function.
I reinstalled the Sigma-driver correctly and now the IDT Audio is back, plus the sound system works fine: laptop and external speakers, mic, dvd-sounds. But there is no Realtek driver - do I have to install it back from somewhere? (and if so, where and which version?)
thx!
