HI CAN ANY ONE HELP ONE MINUTE MY BATTERY WAS 100% CHARGED THEN IT SAID NO BATTERY DETECTED WITH A RED CROSS MY VAIO VGN-FE41S IS ONLY 10 MONTHD OLD ONLY USE WITH MAINS ON NEVER USE IT ON BATTERY.

Warranties for batteries have been extended from 6 to 9 months not that this helps you much. All you can do is go into a retailer that has your model and ask if you can try out on of their batteries and see if it works. If it doesn't detect the new battery then your device manager is at fault. Go into the device manager and see if there are any exclamation marks next to the ACPI Compliant battery and disable and reboot. It shuld install the drivers again correctly
