It's a nifty little email notifier called ePrompter and it's a doddle to set up for up to 16 email accounts.
You can also send text only email from your desktop.
If you use Gmail, you will need to change the account language setting to "English US", as it only recognises that setting.
For AOL, select the "AIM" account option and not the "AOL" one during setup.
