HDMI settings on XL301

I have an XL301 connected to a TV Sony 32D3000. The connection is HDMI wire.
On the TV guide I have found he HDMI setting for direct link with connected equipments. To do that it is necessary that also the connected equipment (in this case the XL301)have the HDMI settings to be setted in the same way.
Somebody can help me where I can find the HDMI settings on XL301?

I have the XL302 connected to a Sony 40D3000 television by HDMI to AV5 on the television but I did not have to make any special settings on the XL machine. Can you say what these settings are

it is the same for me, the HDMI is connected on AV5.
In the isntruction book of the TV there is written that if the HDMI setting on the TV and the other equipment (in this case the XL301) are setted properly there is the possibility for a direct control (example switch on automatically and so on) between the 2 equipment.
But the solution of this problem is nice to solve but not mandatory.
What it really a problem for me is the other issue I described in my other post on watching TV.

The Direct control you are talking about is Sony's Theatre Sync using HDMI Control, but the Vaio does not support this function.
I use a Harmony 885 remote control to control all our equipment.
