DVD Drive stopped working after the firmware upgrade

I updated firmware for matshita dvd-ram uj-850s ata device on my Sony Vaio VGN-AR41L. it has stopped working after update. it is not able to read any CD/DVD. Please help.

Is there any way to uninstall this firmware.

imhaving the same problems too its a pain in the ass i cant seem to fix the problem either
