Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen, or the glue that was used to put display together.
Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

the picture above shows a green shade around the "apps launcher" icon.
I have the similiar thing with my wallpapers (still or live).
Technically speaking, if there's a green tint or yellow tint with your phone which is due to hardware fault, the photo does not suppose to show "green" or "yellow" tint when you upload it to internet or other devices.
for example, if you have a dead yellow or green spots or pixels at the middle of your phone screen, you print screen it and upload it to your laptop, the yellow or green spots or dead pixels will not show on your laptop, because your laptop screen is fine.
Print screen just captures the background picture of your phones, it cannot capture the hardware fault.
My opinion is, that is probably due to the design of the wallpaper. Try other types of themes or different types of wallpapers and you will see the results.

Where did you hear that the new lcd screen is available soon? Junction 8 service center hasn't give me any call regarding this
i thought what you showed us was a screen capture and the color you circled is right there...and it's way too good to be a hardware issue...it's more like a theme design to me...as far as i can understand what you were trying to say...
You xperia S still lies in Junction 8? Is it more than a month now? You have not done something about this yet?
I made too many trip to junction 8. That was what they say. The new LCDs parts will be available soon.
I got my xperia S replacement but it is ridiculously disappointing that there are dead pixels on the screen.
I wrote in to Sony mobile singapore the next day but they did not reply and kept "mum" about this as usual. Treat it as if "accept the defect, and just use it." kind of attitude to their customers.
Very disappointing indeed. The customer relation and quality inspection of Sony are terrible.
This morning I met one guy who had his HTC One X on the table, his HTC One X seems almighty, strong and stable on the table while my weak little xperia S is blind with dead pixels and plauged by yellow spots. Like a healhty baby and unhealhty baby.
Xperia S is just an experimental product to derive Xperia P, Xperia U and the upcoming Hayabusa and we customer as just the experimental subjects.
I didn't put my phone there. Just called them and asked about this case...not willing to travel there just to find out if they have the replacement part.
I don't really trust junction 8 since the day I tried to collect the smart tags. I called them and they refused to tell me whether they have those smart tags for collection...I called other store in AMK hub and they told me they have few left and they called me back at 5 telling me it's out of stock, while junction 8 refused to tell me if they have it and kept on telling me to come and check it myself....that's 1 weird thing around junction 8 sony store
well dead pixels are considered natural if it's a few, they will only replace it if it's a line or a spot for more than few milimeters....
HTC...I don't really like HTC design so far and there are still things that Xperia S can do better...
I don't know about others but compare sony and samsung's android OS, I think sony's android has less crapwares than samsung...personal preferences but i like everything comes plain and we pick those features optionally...some would love to have everything ready out of the box
Xperia S is an experimental product yes...that's why they boost some specs to make us think it's 1 awesome product...but yeah I still like the camera and it's fast to take picture from sleep mode... I don't know how important that is for others but for me there are important moments that passed real fast and I don't wanna miss it, like taking a picture of my dog while I don't have a camera with me...the moment I get my camera ready it's too late.
When you come to think of this, signing up a new flagship phone contract with a mobile carrier for 2 years, and you get a defective phone and made frequent trips and calls to service center with fruitless outcome, you are typically doomed.
Do you still really love your flagship phone when it gives you terrible experiences and troubles? especially when you still sincerely support it given its outdated software and specs, when other company provides flagship phone in terms of better specs, better built, latest OS out of the box and better quality assurance?
This is heart-breaking indeed. When you still make complaints about the product to the customer service, it means you still care about the product and the company you love.
When you stop complaining, eventhough technically speaking, there are technical faults with the phone,.....it means you give up and you don't care anymore. & it's time not to get cheated by looks and look for something sincere and better
Yes this is a screenshot. Result of change of wallpaper theme is below...
Actually it appears on any non-green theme.
I want to believe that this is a software issue, but can anyone advise how to fix it?
well, there's nothing we can do at the moment, flaming in this place will get us nowhere, might as well as wait and i can do something else. Noone is happy about this issue and we know it's not going to work by simply replacing the screen...it's how the screen is made, the only solution would be to wait until they get another batch of screen ready without this problem and shipped to the service center and hat's when we can expect it to be fixed. if it's some other defective part that can be solved immediately by replacing the unit then people should have been happy with the new replacement...but so far we can only see disappointments after all that they've gone through.
Well I'm not satisfied with this either since it's totally unpleasant to my eyes but so far i don't really get my phone to anywhere close to 40 degree with average usage and the battery last over 24 hours a day...just have to turn my eyes away from those unpleasant sight or i'll throw this phone on the ground...it's starting to piss me off just by thinking about it for too long....sigh
