Yellow tint

Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen,  or the glue that was used to put display together.

Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

Hello markus, sony xperia smartphone support,

Can you tell us what is sony stand on this issue.

Has Sony produced any xs without this fault?

People who really use smartphone as smartphone has this issue but other dont use much so issue is not discovered.

The only option would be product recall to exchange with new handset.

Also can you inform network providers about this issue at least so that if u dont give a **** then at least we can take up this issue with them.

At least confess this issue and inform providers.

I know sony dont give a *** **** to this forum and all the users mourning about your products.

At least tell us something.

Well... I bought my phone on 15 March and I haven't actually used my phone to the fullest, as someone mentioned to get the temperature above 40 C... Hence, no problem until now.....

My batch being 12w12.... If anyone has the same please update me....

Also, reading I somehow feel that Sony isn't taking its reponsibility to the fullest.... I suppose, Mr. Hirai Kazuo should visit this forum sometimes...

I can't believe in Sony anymore. Shame on you, Sony

Are there any changes made to the manifacturing process of the Xperia S, so the sceen won't develop this yellow tint?

I'm afraid this problem's gonna be like the hairline crack on the Xperia Arc (S) case, where Sony is still replacing the front cover with the same defective one that carcks again after a few months. It's good that both of the issues (the crack on the Arc and the yellow tint on the Xperia S) are fixed under warranty, but there's no point in doing so when the acual cause for the problem is still present

I just found that:

http://gamepolitics.com/2012/04/03/sony-acknowledges-xperia-s-yellow-screen-issue

According to a CNET UK report, Sony's Xperia S phone has a serious issue with heat that can turn the handset's screen yellow if it gets too hot. In a statement issued to CNET UK, Sony confirmed that it knows about the issue, but also said that the problem only affects a small number of Xperia S handsets.

"Sony Mobile Communications has identified that the display on a limited number of Xperia S smartphones may show a slight yellow tint if exposed to temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius."

Sony also confirmed that it has changed the manufacturing process for the phone to avoid having this issue occur on any more handsets. Those consumers who have had this issue can take solace in the fact that Sony Mobile will "resolve this at no cost to the consumer."

In case you didn't know, the Xperia S is an Android-based phone that can also play some PlayStation games.

Could we get a confirmation on this particular quote:

“Sony also confirmed that it has changed the manufacturing process for the phone to avoid having this issue occur on any more handsets.“ ?

I currently own a Xperia Arc S and there's no way I could think of buying the Xperia S without knowing Sony really changed the manifacturing process, so this yellow tint won't occur...

Hello,

Is a green spot, that i circled in the bottom, a defect? Maybe its off the topic, which is about all the yellow, but it appears on any wallpaper with white / light background and I suspect its reason maybe of the same sort as that for yellow. Can anyone confirm?

Did you do a print screen on this?

I doubt it is the problem of the hardware in this case.

If there are yellow tints or dead pixels found or other sorts of tints found on your phone, print screen would not show when the pictures are uploaded to other defect free devices.

Probably this is due to software issue?

Hi Dijingga,

According to your last condition, the problems of yellow spots still came back after you had your xperia s screen replaced.

Currently, what do you do with your phone now?

Have you contacted the service center at Junction 8 again?

I receieved news from them that the new LCD screens will be available soon. Has the service center contacted you?
