Yellow tint

Yellow tint

Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen,  or the glue that was used to put display together.

Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

The best recourse again would be to copy/paste your troubles on the comments sections of all articles that you can find online that discuss or review the Xperia 2012 line of products.  If each of us can dissuade just a few potentials buyers (and i know people who buy high end phones do their homework) and increase the overall awareness of the screen troubles and customer service (lack of) with this product, we could potentially make a small global impact.

Recent headlines this week such as "Future Sony Xperia Models Will Have 4.3in AMOLED Displays" makes me snicker as we know why.

However, the headline of "Sony cuts 6% of workforce" makes me flat out smile.

I tried calling the service center and first they said they aren't aware of this problem and refused to help me...

next they said waiting for sparepart...until today and still waiting...I wonder how long is that going to take and some people said they have their phone fixed but that didn't solve the problem so I don't think that new sparepart being shipped isn't going to solve the problem

and while we are all here night and day talking and thinking about our beoved Xperia S and the yellow tint infection, no one is here to give a real clue about the cure of this issue. In fact, actually they are all sleeping and probably don't even care.

I am yet to see Sony actually stands up and shows some respect to their customers and get this issue all resolved. What a dream that has turned into a deeper nightmare.

Hi, this thread has become too lengthy and has 'hidden' the solution. Have a look at earlier posts by Johan and Markus and also the Correct Answer  (in page 1).

Hi Sweety,

You have 6726 posts...  N u dont know the best way to reference a post is by number.

We all paid money to buy this handset. And I guess solution is not to call customer support team. As many people explained what happened when they called, which means no solution.

A simple recall on this product would be a solution.

Handset exchange would be the solution.

Or very simple. U pay me what I have paid for this handset and I would not post anything here. Or wont look for answer.

Sweety this forum is meant to have such discussions.

Btw sweety means gwhispererz, we all know that 😉

Hi subhan222, I didn't know sweety means gwhispererz till now and thanks for noticing my post count.

I hope that you didn't forget the purpose of this Support Forum due to your unhappiness and frustration with your handset.

Anyway .... Suggest you send phone to your local Service Centre for evaluation and disposition.

Thanks gwhispererz for your suggestion.

Before I post anything here, just to let you know I have read the thread completely and maybe there is a mis-understainding  somwhere since I don't find any real solution anywhere and you are under impression that there is some. I believe this is not a way a big-boy corporation like Sony should handle claims and issues with their flagship phone (as they claim).

I live in the USA, phone is not released so I bought the phone from HongKong market. After seven days that seller's return policy eneded I started to get TINT ISSUE and tried every other solution in other forums to cure the problem on be-half of Sony. But unfortunately it does't go away. I have called Sony USA and as expected they are no help. First of all, phone is not even released (thanks god at least they know the phone and tint issue) Secondly, warranty doesn't cover this phone here in the US (Which is a shame for Sony a international Corporation.

Now again, the solution that you think it should help, it doesn't really help many people unless the phone has been released in their country or they bought it from a carrier in there.

This is a mess and as much as you would like to cover and be relaxed about it, I can tell you that its not even funny and very shamful to sell products like this.

So I suggest unless you guys from Sony have a real solution to this bigo issue, please don't post as the covering over the mess does't help.

Thanks for your time.

Welcome Nimche, understand your situation but unfortunately that is the only way to go.

Just trying my best to help anyway ....

gwhispererz,

Don't get me wrong I am in no way saying that its your fault but imagine that you go out online and buy a product from a multinational company so you could enjoy it while that particular product is not available in your country. It breaks after 20 days of use and you paid almost $700 for it. What would you do?

1) Maybe you are rich and you throw it away?

2) You call their customer service in your country and hit the brick wall?

3) You try to get it fix, because you are an enthusiast of their product and enjoy using it every second, so you try to open all the doors for help?

My situation is the third one and as you suggest, I can’t just throw a $700 phone away or just deal with a tint issue that Sony thinks is not that important. I need to get this fixed.

After all so much for support/.
