Xperia SP won't charge or turn on

Hello sony mobile people. Since yesterday, I have not been able to charge or even even turn on my phone! It was charging via a laptop till the battery was at about 30%, then I got a phone call, and the screen went weird and fuzzy, and since then I have not been able to turn it on. And when I try and charge it, the light goes bright red, then dims and eventually turns off after about 5-10 mins. This repeats if you leave it charged, via a PC or charger (and yes, I am using an official sony charger and cable). Can you please help because this is starting to become a nightmare. I should also mention, when I plug it into a PC or laptop, it only gets recognized for a second (while the charging red light is bright red, when it dims its like its not there so I cannot use it with my PC)

Quite similar problem for me: Xperia SP won't charge or turn on.

Background: During the last few weeks, the phone suddenly died and booted again quite often, especially when using navigation or trying to do a phone call. Sometimes, it stuck in a kind of bootloop after that. All this was only happening when the phone was not plugged in. After plugging in, it booted again normally.

Now, it seems to have bootlooped itself to minimum battery during the night (while not being connected) - When I try to press the power button (while not plugged in), I only get a sequence of 2 red flashes from the status LED bar, short break, 2 red flashes again, and so on.

When plugged in: No reaction at all, no LED bar signs showing that the phone is charging, nothing.

Phone is not recognized by the PC.

Sometimes, after having it connected to charger / PC, the red light on the LED bar comes on as if it was charging. After half an hour or so, the display comes to life, showing "Sony" for about two seconds (still together with red light on the LED bar), then 2 or 3 seconds nothing (and no LED), then "Sony" again with red lights, and so on. Periods while the screen is on and showing "Sony" get shorter, until it is just for the fraction of a second, and then everything is off again - back to square 1.

No reactions whatsoever from the manual "off" switch behind the back cover.

Phone is not rooted, flashed or anything. Just stock Sony updates being made.

Thnaks Man ....Its working  .  I purchased online and i checked its not charged 

so i connect the charger it shows light indication but mobile was not turn it on 

so i did the same thing and its started .

i was thinking its faulty .

Hi. since I bought Xperia SP, it has been kind of slow (I also have a Xperia L and is faster). After 1 month of used it turn off because the battery energy got finished, I was told to reset de software. I thought it will help also in its slowness, but it still slow every time I open an app, or tried to make a phone call. It has half of its memory. What can I do?

my xperia sp hasnt been charging for 5 days now, red light just blinks when plugged in...tried volume up + power and also the off button under the back panel no change.  so i read this forum, downloaded the pc companion and went through the steps, but the companion says that my phone needs to be 80% charged to repair/update.

ok..so i lied and said it was 80% charged then followed instructions (plug usb into pc, then hold vol down while plugging usb into phone/tablet *phone begins to charge & turns green at last!* then the update starts.  going well so far. 

         bare in mind you will lose all of your contacts, photos and whatever is on the phone but your sd card is safe

nope, still not charging. its a green light that turns red again and flashes between the two when plugged in

Hello Dears,

If there are no solution, try to connect the headset...

I know the three times vibration just like others here, it means her answer: NO (way..).

I am plugging...

Plug in the charger and when "she" refuses it - with three vibrations - unplug it. It won't work.

Second chance: press all the volume up + volume down + power and hold it for a while. (Until the three vibrations or other sign)

In the case it does not want to work the third chance may be remove back cover below the battery, and press the switch "off" with a pointed object.

Before you give it up - DO NOT BREAK THE PHONE - try to connect a headset.

I don't know how or why but she loves multifariousness and it worked for me TWO times :))

After that all please feel free to try these solutions various times, but always remember you have to let her having a rest during the resuscitation. (Especially before the headset-trick ;)) )

HI can anyone help me i am facing the issue on my sony xperia sp that the phone is not getting charged with any of the charger and it is not getting detected on the pc. It is getting on to 0% battery and again it shuts down. It heats a lot. I am really fed up with this phone. I have been using this phone from the past three years and i gave it to service centre once during the warranty for heating and hanging issue, all they did was updated the android and the problem worse eveyday. the other problem which i am facing is that the speakers of the phone won't work while playing music, movies,games whereas it works when i put the call on speaker mode and the earpiece wont wok even.

maybe another description of the problem ... when the phone is connected to the pc, sometimes sony logo is shown ... green light is up ... stop en goes back to the red light... 

what's the green light meening
