some of my friends have said there is no point in upgrading to 4.3 because the phone becomes virtually unusable.

My Xperia SP is on 4.3 and it's running smooth. Even though there are some minor bugs but it's pretty good.

Or maybe because my phone is almost a month old only.

WHO does, seems like  worlds biggest secret., well Sony's biggest secret........ Never going to get a Sony Unbranded ever again and will recomend to family and friends they do likewise. Bought the SP full price ( yes a lot of us with unbranded paid Sony real cash, not  free or subsidised as part of a contract). Bought a BLE heart monitor and is becoming expensive table decoration as need 4.3 and bought the SP on the premise it would be upgraded ( as per  their website  under support) to 4.3

CAN ANYONE FROM SONY WHO IS READING THIS AND GIVES A DAMM ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS PLEASE REPLY AND  GIVE US AN EXPLAINATION AT LEAST!!!   Smirking_Face

I would like to add to this I'm in the same position I'm trying to avoid using the update directly, I can do it easily. However I want to know what Sony is doing about its UK users who brough the phone out of contract!!!

It simply is not acceptable that we have to wait for all OpCos to agree the update before we get an update.

C'mon guys! Why would/does anyone want 4.3 when there's a good chance it'll screw up your phone? I'd rather have something that works rather than a phone that is neither use nor ornamental. As far as I'm concerned, version 4.3, in the words of Monty Python, is an ex-parrot, ceased to be, gone to meet its maker!

I have no desire to wreck my phone. I want to know when SONY will have a replacement for 4.3.

Are you listening, SONY?

jaypeecee... the answer is no..

Sony have a track record of not caring about customers or their views, this could be a reason for the huge losses and a slipping brand trust.

Hi Deforz,

That's a crying shame.

When I bought my Xperia SP, I had no idea that SONY is no longer the high-profile, high quality, technology giant of Japan. Over the last few days, I have been shocked and saddened by what I have read about SONY.

From my experience, there is now only one company from which I will buy an Android device - Google. Other than that, SONY is now on my shortlist of companies to avoid, the other being Samsung. And it's all about Customer Support, the sort of stuff you'll never find in any product review. Company X's latest phone may be the best thing since sliced bread but, behind that product, it's often a different story.
