Urgent help with Xperia Acro S!

I just upgraded the software for my Xperia Acro S and now there's alot of problems with the phone! most of the apps on the phone have stopped working, I cannot even open 'Settings'! everytime I try to open it a pop-up says "unfortunately Settings has stopped", and similar messages keep popping up whenever I try to open many of the apps. Now I can barely do anything with my phone, even media has stopped working...I can't connect to the internet, or customize my phone because 'Settings' has stopped working.

Please help! after the software upgrade, my phone has became virtually useless, most of the apps don't work anymore =(

Try performing a system repair using PC Companion as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

I cant use my phone, everything is not responding. when i try to connect to pc companion my phone is not detected. i cant repair it. how can i fix this? when i turn it on it is stuck on the loading process but dont turn on. please help!
