Sony Xperia S Update problem

i cant update my xperia s to 6.2.B.1.96,while trying to update it with the Sony PC Companion, when my phone shuts down pc (running w8)shows a warning USB device not recognized.Pls give a quick solution.

Please unplug the phone, power it off, do not plug it back in and start the process below. You will plug it after the last step and this will allow you to reload the firmware with phone powered off:

1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps
