Microphone suddenly very weak

My Xperia V, about 6 months old, has suddenly got a very low volume on its microphone, I need to shout into the telephone to make the person in the other end hear me.  The problem is present on local recordings as well.  Any suggestions what I could do apart from sending in the phone for service?

You can do a self test via Service Menu ...

Dial *#*#7378423#*#* then check your mic ...

Tried that.  The 2nd mic seems to work as it should, while the primary only picks up sound when I keep my mouth more or less around the mic holes...

May be some block can cause this issue...

I prefer to take to service centre ...

I got a tip about drying my phone with warm air, that helped! Probably some humidity in the mic hole?

Yes, this happened once to me.

After drying, all become normal.
