great info, but as long as the users are aware of the permissions each app need to work when they download them from the market, or just like any computer check before downloading an attachment and also make sure that installing apps from unknown source is not on their phone should be fine, at the end of the day, it's up to each user

it'll be great if there was an antivirus for android that didn't drain so much battery and more importantly, didn't create so many issues like mcafee, avg, etc

If not AVG, which one would you suggest, Thommo?
Kaspersky? McAfee? Any other one?
Not only virus, malwares / spywares / other attacks are equally important to be protected against.
Am not a software person - hence this very basic question.

I use Avast on both my Xperia S and Tipo and my other branded phone known as the GS2

Because all my phones are rooted including the Tipo I chose Avast for 2 reasons 1. No lag and 2. So should any of my phones be lost I can track them and be sent txt messages of the new temporary owners number (Changed Sim cards) and if they try to do a factory reset it will fail but only if your phone is rooted.

And AVG isn't there as it didn't even score in the top anti virus or malware protection list oh and Mcafee was the same

My question is does the Sony Xperia E C1505/C1504 have its own antivirus software which can warn me not to proceed opening a new window or I should worry if I get viruses warnings?
