my xperia sola battery lasts for only 18hrs with minimum or no use.i have noticed in battery usage info that android os drains around 30-50% battery.and after doing some research on xda i came to know that this is a software issue which was also present in xperia s.is there going to be a firmware update for the xperia sola to reslove this issue?.

yes, maybe some app. i'm guessing whatsapp or facebook (which is always running, even if with the auto-sync/background data disabled...). i have a data counter installed and the traffic seems normal. on the app battery use everything seems normal too, except the android os. i've checked right now and it's about 28%. when i have the data on it's closer do the 40%/45%.
So, update did not fix SD problem.
Battery metter is acting werid.
I am experiencing the same problem with the Sola's battery life. But i think mine is a bit more complicated. Here are the facts:
Usually the phone's batter lasts for about two days. The last three times I charged it though, it lasted less than 24 hours, without using it more than before.
I charged the phone last night (fully charged by 2000) and this morning at 1100 the batter was at 45%. In the meantime I used for a 30-second call and nothing else.
I have the WiFi turned off, the Data turned Off, everything is turned off. Only the Live wallpaper is turned on, but i use one app that supposedly "saves" energy between 0000 and 0700.
Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin etc. are not automatically updating.
Here is the weirdest fact. Android OS this morning was using 78% of the batter. 78!
Battery level is now at 31%:
Android OS 57%
Display 27%
and the rest below 7%
Any ideas/comments?
Finally, some one with the same problem!
My battery level drop about 20% after 6,5 hours during the night. I've read all the pages here and I'm trying removing my SD card. It's a Class 6 - 8Gb. Hope that will help! The card was originally taken from a Digital Camera...
I too have the same issue..Battery drains extensively even if phone is in idle state.
40 % is drained during night with no voice calls, gprs
any help is appreciated
Now i know for sure the battery metter is not accurate !
My xperia sola battery lasts for only couple of hours. I got this phoneone day back and i turned off wi-fi bluetooth etc. Switched off bravia engine disable background data . Still no change.. Any help ?
I lost 20% of battery in just 15 minutes.
At 10:35
Battery status 76%
Battery temp. 33C~34C
Wifi on, auto sync on, full brithness, gps on
Make two calls one of 1min 17sec and other of 8min 51 sec. Was on headphone during the calls minutes.
Start to play a game (Triple town) while being on the call. Must have played it for a maximum of 5 mins.
The call ended and the screen went black. I tried to unlock it but the phone lagged and I just saw a blank screen. Took about 10sec for the wallpaper to appear. Turned the gps off and switched the phone off. Opened it after 30sec.
Now what I see.
At 10:50
Battery status 56%
Battery temp. 36C
Wifi on, auto sync on, full brithness, gps off
Is that normal?
I think it's normal. Especially when you turn off and turn on the phone. It makes the battery shows more accurate percentage. Beside, restarting the phone takes lots of battery juice.
And you left autosync on, FULL BRIGHTNESS. Those are battery killers bro. Calling also drains your battery a lot.
Well I don't think it is normal. I would say it is wierd.
Today my sola lost its first 5% of battery in just 15mins. Next 5% in another 15 minutes with me being on a call. Next 5% after 30 minutes with me still being on the call. And during this whole time my wifi was on and brightness at its peak.
Till now .184 update seems to have improved the battery life to a certain extent with a little bit of wierdness. But I surely believe it could do a lot better with some more of such bug free updates.
And even after 10:30 hours I still have 45% of battery left. After about 50min of call, 1:30 hours of music using the headphones and 1hour of gaming.
P.S. All I did to save my sola from losing the battery was to turn 3 apps off and it performed a lot better. for me WhatsApp, Officesuite and Recommmender.
