Phonebook has stopped working

I missed a call from somebody today, and when I touched the "Phone" application to find out the time of the call, I got the following message:

"The application Contacts (process com.sonyericsson.android.social phonebook  has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

I now get this message every time I attempt to use the phonebook, which basically means I can no longer make calls. I can still receive calls, and everything else seems to work okay.

Shutting down the phone and re-starting it did not fix the problem.

got the same problem but solved it on my own

here r the steps dude

open file manager there u will see the contents of your sd card. there is " up" or back button at the top of file manager. press it untill u reach in phone memory. here u will see the folders like acct, cache, config, Etc.

scroll down and find the "system" folder . then enter " app" folder . now find "SemcPhone.apk".  just install it and there u go..... ta ta da......:)  hapy endngz.........:D
