Phone turns itself off

I only just recieved my Xperia SP on Tuesday! I have changed to EE and im all up and running, however it constantly turns itself off. It will come up saying SIM REMOVED... SHUTTING DOWN ...

The sim card isnt removed and i have signal... so what is wrong with it?

ANY HELP PLEASE?

Forgot to mention it turns back on straight away its just annoying as it can turn off whilst im in the middle of a call or texting or when its not being used at all.

Get a brand new MICRO SIM card, don't get a regular SIM card then trim it

Yeah it came with an EE micro SIM anyway...

this is why its confusing me...

Looks like your SIM is faulty.

And I trimmed my regular SIM its working perfectly. 😛

I've been having the exact same problem except I've had my phone a good few months! Seems totally random, just says 'sim removed' then restarts itself!

Yes that is what happens to mine, baffling! I spoke to Sony they said to request a new sim card so i shall have to do that as its annoying when it keeps turning off when im in the middle of a phone call!!!

I ordered a new sim card, turned out the phone was sent with a Nano Sim, which obviously didnt fit very well!! So if you are having this issue check your sim card, make sure it is the Micro not Nano.
