My phone froze so I had to restart it, but it turned itself off instead and now it won't turn back on, anyone know why? or what i can do?
To be honest if you have tried everything listed here, I can only then advise that you have the handset sent for repair.
This would then appear to be a common fault if so many people have taken the time to visit and view these posts.
Hi all,
i want to make this very simple because i am really in a mess with my phone turned off itself and wont turn on anymore.
i bought this for only two weeks!
1) I connected the charger like normal while the phone still on at night
2) I woke up in the morning the phone is OFF and could not be turned on at any way at any time
3) I brought the phone to a local repair shop, and they say I need to change the battery and the IC, which does not make sense to me because I never do anything, just charge the phone like normal.
4) I tried some of the steps above but did not work.
5) Any other ideas?
Right now my phone can be said no more than a BRICK. I hope anybody can save me.
Current condition of the phone:
1) Cannot be turned On
2) Nothing happened when I connect charger or USB cable to PC, no lights whatsoever appear.
3) Summary: Nothing happened whatever I do.
Anybody can help?
Could be a faulty USB cable .... is it possible for you to get hold of another one to test?
I believe you have already tried to power on phone by pressing the ON/OFF button together with the HOME button.
Hi gwhispererz
i'm not sure whether it is about the cable,
but i'm sure that when i plugged the cable to charge it it was ok ,
only to found in the morning it was already off.
anyway, i've 'brought the phone to the retailer explained what happene
i'll see what actually happen
just to ask another qs,
is it really possible for the IC to be faulty?
I bet the repair shop is probably guessing the possible cause.
Since you are kind of sure that it's not the USB cable, now the next thing to look at is the battery.
thanks gwhispererz
i''m also anticipating about the battery,
and i think the repair shop is trying to mess with me since he wanted quite over-priced pay. thats why im being cautious here
I agree with your sentiment. At this moment, basically you can't do much about the repair cost as you have already given them the phone for repair.
Most important is that it is fixed! Just be sure that you ask for warranty after repair.
Good luck.
Again I just want to quickly summarises everything happened to my phone.
I sent for repair two days ago and yet no update from them yet (they asked me to wait for their update)
On thursday 06/16/2011 I've plugged in the charger at night for normal charging purpose, and in the next morning, I discovered that:
1) Cannot be turned ON while connected to charger or usb cable / not connected with charger or usb cable - both situation.
2) Cannot be turned ON whether with or without Sim card.
3) Cannot be turned ON with/without SD card.
I've tried all of solution options mentioned above.
When consulted with some local repairers,
1) Some claimed the battery
2) Some claimed the IC.
I am in quite complicated situation, I want to save the phone because we paid quite an amount to it.
I enjoyed the phone so much, only to be upset with this sudden turned OFF and cannot be turned ON.
Never ever happened before with other phones (Nokia, Motorola, HTC, even earlier sony ericsson products~!)
Let's hope that the repair shop will do a good job!
