Thank you, ur so helpfull, seems a bit silly to remove as maybe it was meant to be put on twice on purpose for impact to express his feeling of frustration, well as usual, what you do is pretty pointless and hurt no one!!

None of the answers here helped me out. I was faced with this frustrating situation several times, and each time I'd take it to the SE service center and they'd fix it. I finally stopped being an idiot and asked the dude what he was doing to fix the piece of shit. He turned the phone around, open the cover up, then he opened a small rubber-like lid on the left of the camera lens, which contained the battery wires. He lifted the plug like thing and then fixed it back, and it switched on. I tried it again and this has worked for me. Hope it does for you all, too.

Thanks ADITYABSA, i thought it was a battery problem but on the XP Mini the battery is hard wired and can not be accessed until i read your post about the rubber pad exposing the battery plug so i pulled the plug and measured the voltage and it was only reading 0.2v, seeing as though most chargers wont charge a Lithium battery that is below about 2.8v i knew that this was why my phone wouldn't turn on or charge.

Having played around with Lithium cells for many years i pulled the battery plug out of the phone and applied 3.8v accross the + & - leads for approximately 2-4 seconds, this is a cheats way to bring the battery charge level back to life (above 2.8v). After i gave it this quick boost i tested the phone again and it now showed 3.4v instead of 0.2v, i knew we were back in buisness so i plugged the battery back into the phone installed the rubber cover and back cover of the phone and plugged it into the wall charger to find that it now charges and turns on.

If it wern't for you little battery plug cover TIP* and my battery nouse i would have been without a phone and had to send the piece of $%&* back to sony or whoever they call them selves (It's my wifes phone and it's the worst phone ive ever seen, it's always glitchy and i wont be buying another sony for her again).

Thanks once again. Winking_Face

Glad I could help, stihi88. Boosting the charge like you did should work for others, too. I'm dumbstruck that no one posted about this battery hatch before (or if they have, I haven't seen it). It is a rather unconventional solution though, and if you yank the wires too hard or something your phone would end up even more a bar of soap that it already is. So try it at your own risk! Ah, wtf, it's better than going to the damned service center over and over and enduring the misery of sitting there and pondering the meaning of life.

Hey, erm. I have the same problem, I dont know what happened to it but for a second it worked, and when i unlocked it it didn't work - it went all black. I think it froze.. yeah, so then i tried to take the battery out, clearly you can't becuase this phone is fucked up like that, so i just let the phone charge hoping in the morning it'll work. So i turned it on, but it still didn't turn on. what can i do?

mine charges, but will only turn on WHILE charging.

for some reason the task manager, that worked just fine till yesterday, today made my SIM card stop working. it's like the phone went into flight mode every time I kill tasks - only it's not in flight mode.

If it is going into Flight mode every time you kill some task it could be the case that you are either killing a system process or if you have the Sony Ericsson back up & restore app installed, every time you kill that app will make your phone to go into flight mode for a few seconds but then it will get you out of flight mode right away.

Same problem here.

My wife's phone ran out of charge and will not turn on.

Have gone through all of the suggestions.

It is sat idle and half lights up the screen and does this at a rate of every 20 seconds

Has not been near any water or moisture.

Tried all methods, updated software, sim in and out, etc etc.....

Any more ideas please?
